The day before the big Blogiversary day

Tomorrow is my blogiversary!! Has it been so long already?
A year ago I was sitting in Spain blogging about my order from 8ty8beauty that exploded on it's way to me, and shared glitter nail manicure I had made using Accessorize - Magic, not knowing much about how to do proper pictures, and tags, not owning nail art brushes, or stamping plates, just an ordinary girl, that just stopped biting her nails.

Now?

I got an ever-growing nail polish collection (capping 300 soon), I got more nail art stripers than I will ever need. All the glitters in the world. I got foils, stickers, and brushes a-plenty.
My goal when I started this, was to do about 200 posts ea year, with nail arts, swatches and hauls. On top of this, I have even made a video tutorial (who would have thought ??!).

So who knows where this might lead?
It's exciting just following the road, and see where it takes me.

I hope the journey forward will be as exciting as it has been so far.

Collistar - Blu

Swatching time!
I got this gorgeous blue, that I bought in Rome, Italy, and it had been hiding in my bag all this time. Oh joy! Look at this! Gorgeous! So dark its almost blackened blue, so shiny its like wearing a gem!

This shade reminds me a lot of a Misa - A Sin Worth Committing, as for finish, and shine, Collistar - Blu has a longer drying time. I will do a comparison post on the two later, as i think this might be a tad darker/blackened.

Barry M - Chameleon Blue

Somehow this manicure was never posted, but here is it. A bit later than planned, never the less.
It's a gorgeous blue color, I like the shine it puts of.  The Chameleon colours can't have topcoat on them, cause that makes them change colour. and even then, it doesnt seem to last long for me. Kinda puts me off wearing this, but it looks beautiful.

... And ... its a stainer.

I tried it briefly last year, when I bought it, and it stained my nails like hell. (link to prev. blogpost) This time I used a different basecoat, but with no luck. I had it on for a few hours and even that was enough to stain my nails. I have tried it with Linda Johansen basecoat, and OPI Nail Envy, both leaves me with staines.

Anyone tried it with other basecoats?
Is there hope for this polish?

Hibiscus Flowers

This tri-polish challenge popped up on my screen here the other day, and I felt like doing something similar  so here is my take on the tri-polish challenge.

For this manicure I used
Barry M - Berry I/C
Kiko - 331
Max Factor - Lilac Lace

I stamped using Bundlemonster plate - BM 318

I really like how this turned out, the wallpaper background and the colours just goes so well together. Delicate, lady-like.

Anyone said Cougar?

Animal prints is a fashion thing I never jumped on. I felt those prints where too eye catching, too "bright".

I felt really brave one day and bought a Zebra printed dress/tunic online. I worn it once or maybe twice. It's still on the hanger, and when I'm going out with friends I look at the dress and ask myself if I feel brave enough to wear it. Too often, the answer is no. It's a lovely dress, with a broad band in the neck with black sequin, straight cut. I just don't know what to pair it with.

On my nails on the other hand (pun not intended). It had to be tried.
I wanted to go subtle. That if you looked for it, or the sun happen to hit my hand on the right angle, you would be able to see it.
I have seen a lot of tri-polish challenges on my feed lately, and wanted to pair up my own combo.

I picked out TopShop - Mercury Miasma, TopShop - Cosmic Karma, and Orly - Sweet Peacock.
Stamped using Bundlemonster - BM 221.
I got the same print on a Konad plate, but decided to take the BM plate, as the box was on my desk and the Konads in my bedroom. If you wonder, that would be the Konad - m57.

This is going to be a picture spam, just so you know. I ran around the house trying different lights, settings, etc to make this really show. Needless to say, I loved it.

Ringfinger TopShop - Cosmic Karma

TopShop - Mercury Miasma

Stamped with the opposite TopShop colour, and filled the big circles with Orly  - Sweet Peacock.

Needed some suitable underwear for a manicure this sassy.

Norways National Day - Flag Nails

I needed something special for the National Day, and I wanted it to look different than the one I did for the French National Day. Which also happen to be in red, white and blue.
On the French National Day, I painted "Le Bastille" over the colors, see post here. So, I though, why not just flag nails ?

And so she did.

I went over with the blue striper twice to build some colour.

Mini Birthday Haul

I have been on a mini haul for some new nail stuff for my upcoming birthday. Didn't buy much, just a few things.

I have restocked on Lemony Flutter from Lush, and a new pot of Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream.
My local Boots has gotten a Sinful Colors rack and I picked up these four beauties.

Kissy, Courtney Orange, Pink Forever, Exotic Green.

I have been wanting studs for a while, and I found some at my local Claire's.
They had a wheel with some black, silver and golden studs. I can't wait to try these out!
Finally I get myself some studs.

I feel like getting a Grunge-outfit and get all dressed up.

I wandered in a Bodycare shop and found this wheel with different heart fimos. There where also some bows in there. Happy me! I want to get hold of more bows for nailart. if you got a tips on where to buy them, etc on Ebay, send me a link down below.

I also found some nail art stack pots at New Look, they where £1.99 (2.50 euro).

I'm looking forward to my birthday. I'm gonna be a quarter of a century soon. Eek! It's a bit scary, but I'll get over it. From now on, I'm definitely no longer a child.  The big 25. Wish me luck.

70's print makes me blue

TGIF!
Have a great weekend girls!!

Today I have Cheeky plate CH48 for you ladies. To create this manicure I used 3 nail polishes, and a dotting tool. I'm sorry for the scratches on my hands, I have been doing extensive gardening, and this manicure has held like a rocket through digging in the dirt, to sawing trees.

I feel like a 50's "You Can Do It" -poster girl here.

But lets drag us back to the 70's with this manicure. I hope you liked it, and remember for more 70's style, check out Mishkas take on this plate over at Lacquer of Leave Her!

Basecolor was Fnug - Bandana, I stamped using Essie - Bobbing for baubles, and dotted the center using Makeup Mekka - Remember '79.

Eeek! I look so pale!
