Today I got my Grey-polishes out. And lets just say, that I have a few. Lets just say.. this is not all of them.

Essie - School of Hard Rocks

FNUG - Runway
China Glaze - Recycle
Kicks - Metro Grey

I wore this all day; did some laundry, and scrubbed the bathroom, and you know what? They all held pretty good!
And hubby wanted to help out, and took some pictures showing all the nails.

What do you think about the position of the hands there?

Whats where:
R Thumb / L Pinky - Kicks - Metro Grey, R index finger / L ring finger - China Glaze - Recycle, R & L middle finger - FNUG - Runaway, R ring finger / L index finger - Ciate - Vintage, R pinky/ L Thumb - ESSIE - School of Hard Rocks.

L.A. Colors - Current

Quick swatch of L.A. Colors - Current.

Reminds me of the coverage and shimmery-ness of the likes of  Max Factor Sunny Pink, and Sunny Blue, only difference is that this is green.

This is three coats.

Summer Challenge - Orange and Green

One of the Challenges we recently had in the Crumpet Nail Tarts - FB group, is Orange and Green mani-day.

I started out with three coat of Lemon Tree  from H&M. Took a sponge and dabbed Summer Peach from Sinful Colors over. I used two "coats". Then I took Irish Green from Sinful Colors, and sponged over two times. As a finishing touch, I added wavy french at the very tip.

I have had some questions how I achieve the sponge-look that I also had in my Whiskey Sour mani . So this time, I added a picture of the sponge that I use for this. Just in case its a sponge / using neon - thingy.

H&M - Lemon Tree

It was about time I got around to do a swatch of this polish.
When I need an orange for sponging, or to wear under a neon, this is the one i pick up.
To see where I have used it before click on "Lemon Tree" underneath, or search for it in the search box --->

Summer Challenge - Surfin USA

Good evening ladies!

I took this challenge a bit different that a lot of the other girls did.
I had art-block, and  Mishka from Lacquer or Leave Her! and I was chatting last night over Skype.
We came up with the idea of focusing on "Surfin", and it made me think about "Surfin on the webz". And Mishka said I could make a computer mouse with the cord going over my nails.
Needless to say: I loved the idea.

One coat of Sinful Color - Snow Me White.

- A bowl with a few drops of vodka ( I find it to work excellent for this, and we hardly drink it, so why not?).
- A piece of paper.

Newspaper nails
Print a design you want on a piece of paper, use the "reverse printing" option on your printer. (most printers has that option) . Cut out a piece that fits your nail (leave some extra to make it easier to peel of), soak it in alcohol for 30 sec. Place the paper piece onto your nail (print down), and press it firmly down. I like to close a fist over the finger, while the alcohol dries, and the print transfers. This will take about 1 min. Take the paper of. Take a dry finger and rub it gently over the nail, to remove access paper. This will not smudge your design, so don't worry.

Add topcoat to protect your design. (Some brands might smudge the print.)

But we are not done yet! We need the computer mouse. Its no Steelseries, but it will do.

Polar Bear in a Snowstorm

Today I wanted to recreate one of my favorite manicures, from the days before I started blogging.
Some of you might have seen this design at Cutepolish before, and some might be new to it.

For this manicure I used one coat of Snow Me White - Sinful Colors.

Orange-a-peel with sunspots

I just got my first Indie-polishes, and I had to try Orange-a-peel. It reminds me of a close-up picture of the sun with sunspots. I know I'm a nerd. Haha.
Don´t know what I am on about?

Picture showing AR1339, from National Geographic.
No its not a Claude Monet, this is actually the surface of the Sun. Cool, right?
Anyhow... Back to polish.

I wanted to to and create something like this with my new polish.

I used two coats of Depend - 124, and one coat of Orange-a-peel.

And now for the sunspot effect I sponged some black at the tip and base of my index finger.

Orange-a-peel is a fun polish, I am interested to see how it layers over other colors.
As for drying time. You should not use Out The Door topcoat on this one, after 1 hour it was still gooey. Sally Hansen Double Duty (that I happened to have in my bag), dried it in a few sec. (I have to remember to get a new one soon, cause its almost out. !!)

MSMD - Gradient sponging over nail striping tape mani II

As you might remember I did a Gradient sponging over nail striping tape mani on last monday for the MSMD (Monkey see Monkey do). I loved it so much and wanted to try it out with another set of colors.

Huge thanks to Lacquer or Leave Her for introducing this mani, on her MSMD, a few weeks ago.
If it wasn't for you, I would never have stumbled over this design.
(I wanted to post this mani as soon as she got up, but I haven't seen her yet, so I am just going to do it now. I don't like scheduling posts..)

I finished this mani just around midnight, so I didnt get a chance to take a picture right away, so there will be some wear on it.
